Marine mammals on shore are vulnerable to dangers they are not well equipped to face—including harassment by humans and dogs.
If you encounter a marine mammal:

  • Stay at least 100 yards away from any marine mammal.

  • Keep dogs and people away.

  • If you are concerned about a marine mammal,
call your local marine mammal stranding network.

Leave a clear description of the animal and its location, the situation or condition as you see it, and your contact information.
